the short version

Terms

Supporting the trip is a voluntary gift toward the costs, with heartfelt thanks in return.

Contributions are voluntary gifts

Any money you contribute is a voluntary gift toward the costs of the trip, such as charging, ferries, tolls and campsites. It is not an investment, a loan, a pre order, or a purchase of goods or services, and it gives you no ownership, financial return, or stake of any kind. No particular route, schedule, outcome, or completion of the trip is promised.

Monthly memberships

Some of our thank-yous come as a monthly membership. A membership renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page or by emailing us, and it takes effect at the end of the month you have already paid for, so you keep the extras until then. We do not refund part months. The extras that come with a membership, such as a louder vote or a postcard from the road, stop when the membership stops. If we ever change the price, we will email you first so you can cancel before it applies. If the trip is cut short or does not go ahead, we will stop taking further payments.

Thank-yous are a gesture, not a contract

We like to say thank you with things like a spot on the wall, a say in the route, shout-outs and, for larger contributions, a postcard. These are goodwill gestures offered at our discretion. They can change or be withdrawn, and not receiving one is not a fault on our part or a reason for a refund.

Having a say in the route

Votes and route decisions are genuinely fun and we do read every one, but they are advisory. The final call on where we go, what we film and what we publish stays with us, for reasons of safety, cost, weather and what is actually possible on the day. Backing the trip does not buy a particular outcome, and there is no guarantee a vote will go your way or that a chosen option will happen.

Contributions are non-refundable

All contributions are final and non-refundable, whether they are one off or part of a monthly membership. Because they are gifts toward costs we may already have committed to, we do not give refunds once a payment is made. This includes if the trip is delayed, re-routed, cut short, changed in any way, or does not go ahead at all. The only exceptions are where a refund is required by law, or where you were charged in genuine error, for example an obvious duplicate payment. If you believe a payment was taken in error, get in touch within a reasonable time and we will look into it fairly.

Plans can change

This is a real world road trip, so weather, the vehicle, ferries, borders, personal circumstances, cost and safety can all change our plans. The route, the dates, the content we publish, and whether the trip happens or is finished are all subject to change at any time, without notice and without any liability to you. Your contribution does not guarantee that the trip takes place or is completed.

What you post and send us

You are responsible for anything you send or post, including questions, messages for the wall, display names, playlist suggestions and route ideas. Please keep it legal, honest and kind. Nothing abusive, hateful, obscene or misleading, and nothing that infringes anyone else's rights or privacy. By sending it, you give us permission to show, publish, shorten for clarity and share it on this site, in our videos and on social media, without payment. If you suggest an idea and we use it, no fee or credit is owed, although we will usually say thank you. We can moderate, edit or remove anything at any time, without notice.

Your account and fair use

If you create an account, keep your login details to yourself and tell us if you think someone else has them. Please do not try to break, overload, scrape or interfere with the site, or use it for anything unlawful. We can suspend or close an account, or block access, if we believe it is being misused or that it puts the site or other people at risk. If we close an account, contributions already made remain non-refundable.

Sponsorships and affiliate links

Some of what we publish may be paid for or supported by a brand, and some links may earn us a small commission if you buy through them. Where that is the case we will say so clearly on the page, post or video. It never changes what we honestly think of something, and it never costs you anything extra.

The content is not advice

The site and videos are for enjoyment and general interest. Our EV, charging and travel notes are simply what worked for us, shared as is and without any warranty of any kind. They are not professional, financial, legal, safety or travel advice, so please do your own research and rely on anything here at your own risk.

Our liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for any loss or damage, whether direct, indirect or consequential, arising from your contribution, your use of this site, anything you rely on here, or the trip itself. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot lawfully be limited, such as liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

Payments

Payments are handled securely by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. By contributing you confirm that you are at least 18, that the payment method is yours to use, and that you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms from time to time, and the version in place when you contribute is the one that applies to that contribution. If we make a significant change that affects a monthly membership, we will email you first. These terms, and any matter arising from them, are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
